A.
PURPOSE:
To provide a clean, safe, and reasonably priced
environment, designed to meet the needs of the City of McIntosh
related functions as well as diverse functions held by and for
public and private sectors of our community.
The City Council of
McIntosh determines the policies which govern the operations of the
McIntosh Community Center and Municipal Building.
B. POLICIES:
Reservations may be
made over the telephone (218-563-3043) or in person at the McIntosh
City Clerk’s office, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Reservations may be
made up to one (1) year in advance of your event. Reservations are
made on a first contact, first serve basis. Next day reservations
are subject to availability and the approval of the City Clerk.
A rental agreement
must be signed prior to the event. The agreement will include the
following items:

Purpose of the event.

Rental times must be provided at the time the reservation is made.

Room set-up, such as number of accessible tables and chairs.

Renter name and contact information.
If you wish to
cancel a reservation, please provide notice seven (7) business days
prior to the event. If cancellation is given without appropriate
notice, the renter will forfeit pre-payment unless someone else
reserves the room.
The City of McIntosh
reserves the right to cancel any reservation or rental agreement
within ten business days of the scheduled event. This shall be done
only when it has been deemed necessary and prudent to do so.
A rental agreement
may not be sublet or transferred for any other use or to any other
individual or organization without approval from the City Clerk.
C. RESTRICTIONS:

No smoking or
alcohol use is permitted anywhere, or at any time, in the
Community Center or Municipal Building.

Consumption or
possession of any illegal substance is prohibited.

The Community
Center and Municipal Building bans the possession of firearms.
-
Rummage sales
are permitted in the Municipal Building but not the Community
Center.
-
Organizations
are limited to meeting twice monthly in either facility unless
authorized by the City Council.
-
The City of
McIntosh is not responsible for accidents, injuries, illness, or
loss of group or individual property.
-
Anyone violating
the established rules and regulations of the McIntosh Community
Center and Municipal Building, or state and federal laws and
regulations, may be required to leave the facility.

A renter must be
18 years of age. Groups composed of minors (under the age of
18) must be supervised by one (1) adult for every twenty (20)
minors while they are using the Community Center or Municipal
Building.
D.
SET-UP AND CLEAN-UP RESPONSIBILITIES:

The renter is required to return all used
tables and chairs to their original positions, and assumes the
responsibility of leaving the room(s) as it was originally
found.

No pins or
staples are allowed in the walls. No confetti, glitter, silly
string, fog machines, or open flames are permitted. Bird-seed
is permitted outside, rice is not permitted.

All trash must
be placed in the dumpster or removed from the facility and
disposed of properly.

Any damage done
to the facility by an individual, group, or organization, as
determined by the City Council, will be the financial
responsibility of that party.
E.
FEES:
Groups exempt from rental fees:
-
McIntosh based service organizations requiring basic meeting space,
with no kitchen facilities, for less than two hours.
-
City
of McIntosh.
-
Offices paying monthly rental fees at the Municipal Building.
-
Organizations conducting a “medical benefit” for another individual.
Rental fees apply
to the following groups:
-
All other groups
and organizations.
-
Any event that
requires use of the kitchen facility and/or exceeds two hours in
length.
